Cure Violence is an anti-violence program aimed at reducing gun violence by using outreach workers to interrupt potentially violent situations
Our Goals:
- Working with individuals associated with violence. - Working with neighborhoods that are disproportionately affected by violence. Community Outreach:
- Employing specially trained workers to help individual who are the highest risk of shooting or being shot. - Creating a visible public education campaign to enforce the message that shootings are not acceptable. - Educating people about the causes of violence. Why Respond?
- To assist individuals impacted by shootings. - To prevent retaliation through outreach. - To bring peace and calm during turmoil. - To heighten community awareness and involvement in reducing violence "Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek."
